Ispitanici su online ispunjavali upitnike maksimizacije (Turkan, 2015), neodlučnosti (Frost i Shows, 1993), brzine donošenja rutinskih odluka u svakodnevnom životu (Predrijevac, 2017) i Eysenckov upitnik ličnosti (EPQ R/A, Eysenck i Eysenck, 1991). |
Sažetak (engleski) | Life complexity of an individual depends on personality traits and many other qualities such as his/her abilities to make choices in everyday life. Neuroticism, because of its highly negative manifestation such as feelings of fear or anxiety, largely determines the life of an individual. Furthermore, the process of conducting life choices can sometimes be challenging, more so if the person is indecisive, continuously delaying his or her obligations to make decisions or is maximizing the decision (searching for alternative solutions, high standards and experience of difficulties while deciding). The purpose of this research was to examine, on the one hand, the relationship between neuroticism and decision-making aspects with academic success, and, on the other, the relationship between neuroticism and decision-making aspects. The study involved 256 students, of which 186 were women and 70 men. Participants completed the following questionnaires online: Maximization Scale (Turkan, 2015), Indecissivenes Scale (Frost and Shows, 1993), Routine Decision-Making Questionnaire in Everyday Life (Predrijevac, 2017) and Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ R / A, Eysenck and Eysenck, 1991). The results showed that students who enrolled in the regular academic year were more determined and less inclined to seek alternatives. Similarly, participants with a lower average grade point are more likely to seek alternatives, and those who are more satisfied with themselves as a student experience less decisionmaking difficulty, less decision-making delay, are less neurotic, and more decided. Furthermore, neurotic individuals have been found to delay decision-making, are hesitant, prone to seek alternatives, and experience decision-making difficulties. Likewise, participants who need more time to make a decision are more likely to look for alternatives and have more difficulty making decisions. Finally, more indecisive individuals were found to have higher standards and experience decision-making difficulties. |
