The term linguistic landscape refers to the linguistic use of public inscriptions and has been the subject of many studies in the field of multilingualism research since the 1990s. The topic of this paper is the description of the linguistic landscape of the city of Sinj. For this purpose, the paper first describes the determinants related to Sinj. It also refers to basic terminology related to linguistic landscape research. Furthermore, the paper mentions globalization as a significant variable in the study of the linguistic landscape and its impact on the Croatian language and language culture. The central part consists of the research part, ie the description and interpretation of public inscriptions belonging to the linguistic landscape of the city of Sinj divided into signs belonging to the official and unofficial domain. The same signs have been described with regard to the impact of collective identity and globalization. Deviations from the norm in the inscriptions belonging to the public space of the city of Sinj are also analyzed, followed by a conclusion in the function of synthesizing the research of the linguistic landscape of the city of Sinj.
