This diploma thesis investigates all the ways in which native values can be introduced into educational work and its influence on the development of children's speech and vocabulary enrichment. The paper consists of a theoretical and a practical part. The rich heritage of the town of Daruvar has been applied as an incentive for various activities carried out in a group of preschool children. The purpose of the research is to explore the area of local heritage and all its values, then devise a way to best convey these values to preschool children, and then through various activities to encourage children to research and thus cover all areas of development. At the beginning of the research, the initial condition of the children was determined, and then the research started. In the theoretical part, in addition to getting acquainted with the concept of heritage and its impact on education and the development of speech and vocabulary, this paper briefly introduces the reader to the basic sights and historical facts of the city of Daruvar. Those sights that were later carried out in the practical part of the work are highlighted and their significance is briefly described. The theoretical part is further enriched with children's works and photographs from practice. The practical part describes the goal of the research and its outcomes, lists the participants in the research and the research methodology. Furthermore, the activities carried out in kindergarten Vladimir Nazor Daruvar, in the preschool group "Butterflies" are described. All activities carried out were accompanied by photographs of works and children.
