Music has a very important place in the preschool education. Music education influences their physical, intellectual and emotional progress. That is why in this period of education, special attention is paid to the choice and manner of conducting musical activities. Carl Orff’s musical pedagogical concept offers opportunities to develop overall children’s creativity. It introduces easily accessible and simple instruments that allow to connect music and movement with an emphasis on rhythm. In an elaborate methodological system without strict rules, at the center there is children's play that allows unlimited freedom and improvisation. The musical activity based on the guidelines of Orff's instruments, conducted in the preschool groups of the kindergarten „Voštarnica“, children of normal development and children with disabilities, enabled the achievement of the set goals. The active participation of children encouraged their overall development: their relaxation, strengthening concentration, development of perception, motor and social skills. Working with Orff instruments has a different reception in relation to children of normal development and children with disabilities. The application of Carl Orff's musical method in working with preschool children requires additional competencies of educators.
