Methodology of literature, as a recent scientific discipline, inter alia, deals with the school interpretation that has evolved from the interpretation within literature science. School-based interpretation has enabled the turning point in literary teaching by placing works at the center of literary teaching. It is possible to gradually understand and introduce students to the world of literary work. Novel Slavka Kolar Breza deals with the problems of the Croatian village and the people living there, highlighting the main character of the work, Janica Labudan, as opposed to its center. Breza is being studied in the eighth grade of primary school when the children, at age 14, are in a developmental degree to be ready to solve the problems of the Croatian village in the 20th century as well as complex characters in the works. The aim is to develop novels through the school interpretation, that is, the classroom of class teaching in the system of school interpretations, methodical systems in literature teaching and the reception theory. Reading, which begins to receive works, is of great importance for the psychological development of students. Interpretation and reception are interdependent and in constant perfection and upgrading.
