This paper is about OPG-s on an island Pasman and its purpose is to conclude do they support the development of the island. The main purpose of this paper is to describe and potentially bring closer experiences of local OPG-s on Pasman. Through it, I will also discuss the obstacles that these OPG-s face in their work. Islands are unique and specific living areas. Their main characteristic is separation from the land which is the main reason of their attraction. Each is also known for their unique natural beauty, gorgeous beaches and of course, big tradition. With all advantages of living on an island, there are also many cons to that. Possibilities and obstacles of managing OPG-s on an island will also be discussed. As small locations, islands are sensitive to any kind of threat as pollution or taking advantage of its natural resources. Therefore, it is of great importance that their development leads to their sustainability. For many years, islands have been affected by depopulation for which their revitalization is important. To help the case, Ministarstvo regionalnog razvoja and Europian Union, have developed project "Hrvatski otocni proizvod (HOP)" whose main goal is to support islanders in selfemployment through production of local products. For that cause, family farms (OPG-s) are necessary, especially for island areas (Marinkovic, 2016.) Having that on mind, this paper's purpose is to discuss the importance of sustainable development on island Pasman trough OPG-s work.
