Sažetak (engleski) | Bukovica is a karst region that is located in the triangle between Benkovac, Obrovac and Karin. It is bordered by the river Zrmanja, the Karin Sea, and the Krka River. It is assumed that this region was named after the abundance of beech forests that have disappeared through grazing and agriculture. Ravni kotari stretch from Bukovica, Benkovac and Novigrad to the north to the small coastal strip from Zadar to Skradin in the south, or from the hinterland of Zadar to the Skradin hinterland. The administrative center is the town of Benkovac. Bukovica is an area where there is also great potential for tourism, hunting, rock and nature protection. By vegetation and farming, this area differs significantly from the neighboring fertile Ravni kotari in which the populace population was constantly evicted. The area of Ravni Kotar was inhabited before the arrival of Croats, as evidenced by numerous archive documents. Tourists are happy to visit this area for quality homemade food such as lamb, ham, homemade cheese, fruits and vegetables. This area is rich in rich cultural and historical monuments, so close to Benkovac are the remains of the Assyrian city of Rome-Liburn, and the remains of the medieval towns of Nadin (Nedinum) and Karin (Corinium), near Obrovac-Cvija's fortress, the remains of Perušić, Kličevica, Old Obrovac, etc. Since 19th century at the foot of old forts and castles, today's settlements of Benkovac and Obrovac are being developed, which are the centers of Bukovica and Ravni Kotari. These are urban and commercial sites that, thanks to their rich cultural and natural heritage, provide an ideal space for life and rest, as well as a study of rich history. |
