In this research paper, the chosen literary texts are approached by means of Faucault's space theory. The paper also analyses the heterotopic presentation of urban locations in a state of siege which turns the city into a 'monstrous zone'. The introductory part is dedicated to defining poetological features of anti-war prose, it's connection to critical mimetism, the testimony poetics and specific presentation of location. Within these terms, the following literary corps are approached: the short stories from Sarajevo Marlboro by Miljenko Jergović, the novel Konačari by Nenad Veličković and two stories from the collected works The Death in the Museum of Modern Art by Alma Lazarevska. In all above mentioned works, the literal illustration of war is situated in Sarajevo (although it is presented as an unnamed city in the stories by Alma Lazarevska) and it confirms the image of heterotopic metamorphosis of wartime Sarajevo. In Jergović's stories it is manifested in an absolute contrast: 'infernal Sarajevo', heterotopic and enclosed monstrous place is in opposition to idilic image of pre-war Sarajevo representing the lost utopia. In Nenad Veličković's novel and prose by Alma Lazarevska, museum area is additionally analysed for it stands as heterotopia of ' an endlessly accumulated time'. In the concluding part, the paper covers the outside view, the topic of exiting the hetetotopia is analysed. To be more precise, the topic of escape, exodus and exile is connected to specific identity preocupations of (non)belonging and hybridity.
