Personality disorders are pervasive, inflexible and permanent forms of behavior that cause significant distress or functional impairment. It was found ten different personality disorders and divided into three groups. It is considered as the result of a combination of genetic and environmental (external) factors. They are treated with psychotherapy, and sometimes pharmacotherapy.At the start of dissertation there are briefly explained the terms history and mental status that are important so that we know how to reach the required patient data that are important to doctors to determine the diagnosis, but also for nurses to select the correct care. After that, this disertation deals with the concept of personality, without which we would not have fully understanding of disorder. In this paper, we deal with more detailed personality disorder, where we get to know the types of personality disorders. Types of personality disorders is something that every bachelor of nursing who works in the field of psychiatry should know how to properly access the care of patients. Furthermore, this dissertation deals with the care of people with personality disorders. In details there are explained the nursing diagnoses that most frequently occur and their associated goals and interventions. At the end is written conclusion of dissertation and literature that has been used for this work.Nurse / technician, as a member of the multidisciplinary team, has the role of identifying, detecting and treating problems of patients in health care. Therefore, to each patient we have to access on unique, holistic, therapeutic way.
