Gifted children are a great challenge in the work of each educator. It is of utmost importance to recognize the giftedness so that it can be manifested by the encouragement of educators and parents. Giftedness can rarely be manifested without the encouragement of the environment. However, there are also false estimates of giftedness, so it is certainly important to define giftedness. It is no longer a one-dimensional phenomenon. It also includes social and emotional intelligence, including creativity and affective sphere. Therefore, this thesis will elaborate the concept of giftedness, then the indicators of giftedness in early and pre-school age, and the possibilities of work. Working with gifted children requires the use of special models and methods of work. A diploma thesis will present one case study of a six-year old boy who is supposed to be a gifted child. His giftedness manifested with an adequate approach of the educator. The final chapter is emphasized the securing and encouragement the optimal development of all child's potentials. Theoretical models are also proposed that need to be aligned with the existing forms of work and educating methods in order to achieve this effect. In that sense, recommendations will be made regarding the programming of approaches and methods for the education of gifted, as well as certain proposals to expert teams for their better quality development.
