Common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) is economically important crops. As a culture that thrives in various soil types and has short vegetation to technological maturity is suitable for growing in all climatic regions. Stinging nettle (Urtica dioica L.) is cosmopolitan plant that can act like growth stimulator. Stinging nettle is one of the best botanical liquid fertilizer because of high nitrogen content. Aqueous extract of stinging nettle can be used an alternative to chemical fertilizers. This work aimed to investigate the effect of long (14 days) and short (24 hours) aqueous extract/macerate of stinging nettle used as fertilizer in the cultivation of common bean. The purpose of this research is to determinate the influence of the number of applications aqueous extract/macerate of stinging nettle on the yield of common bean. The experiment was set in eight beds and two repetition with different ways of treating common bean. The short macerate was applied foliary to the leaves of the beds of common bean, while the long macerate was used to water the plants once, twice or three times. The beans were harvested successively and the yields were recorded so as the length and diameter of beans. The yield ranged from minimum of 1.351 grams to maximum of 3.059 grams. The long macerate of stinging nettle demonstrated the greatest effectiveness on the yield, while the short macerate was proven to work better if applied once during the growing season. Treatment of aqueous extracts of stinging nettle (short or long) has no influence on the yield as fertilization with urea that showed about 50% higher yields compared to stinging nettle.
