Iako online učenje donosi brojne izazove, ono pruža i mnoge prednosti, poput pristupa kvalitetnim materijalima i prilagodljivog rasporeda učenja. |
Abstract (english) | During the Covid-19 pandemic, the educational system experienced a significant shock due to the temporary closure of schools and universities in more than 180 countries with the aim of preventing the spread of the virus. Traditional classrooms were replaced with virtual spaces, which deeply impacted the interaction between teachers and students, among other things, leading to a paradigm shift in the teaching and learning process. The pandemic has affected almost every aspect of life, turning into an economic and humanitarian crisis. Online learning was widely accepted around the world in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, which limited the possibility of physical gathering in schools. Online learning posed challenges for students, such as social isolation, networking issues, lack of self-discipline, and poor learning conditions at home. While online learning brings numerous challenges, it also offers many advantages, such as access to quality materials and a flexible learning schedule. According to research, students valued most the ability to learn at their own pace and to study in a comfortable environment. On the other hand, technical difficulties, lack of socializing with friends, and lack of selfdiscipline were rated as the most significant drawbacks of online learning. The results showed that primary and secondary school students have similar perceptions about the advantages and disadvantages of online learning, which is consistent with distance learning studies conducted around the world (Baczek i sur., 2021; Wang, 2021; Pew Research Center, 2021, Čorkalo Biruški i Šimić, 2021; Hebert i sur., 2020). However, it is important to note that this research has certain limitations, such as the potential for bias of reserach participants, overlooking family and societal influences, and a short period of implementation Despite these limitations, the study provides significant insights. While students recognized the challenges of online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic, they also identified its potential. From their perspective, with adequate support, this form of learning opens opportunities for personalized and flexible education, emphasizing the need to redefine education in the digital age. As a result of this insight, the study suggests certain elements for the further improvement of this form of education |
