Abstract

Parallel abstract (English)
Tkonian collection – glagolitic manuscript from the early 16th century is characterized by the predominance of apocryphal content. This fact reveals the effort of its compilers in an age of the transformation of the image of the world, the era in which was tried to make as much departure from the medieval way of thinking and understanding of the world, to maintain the literary texts popular throughout the Midddle Ages and largely determining the spirituality and the overall worldview of a medieval man. An interdisciplinary approach to the apocrypha of the Tkonski zbornik accomplished in this work was directed towards the discovery of its authors' worldviews and the general worldview of the medieval era. The encouragement for such study came out from the author's desire to respond some new questions that were necessary to ask in science, to expand scientific knowledge where possible and where science turned out to be limited and stopped. The work leans on the scientific claim which only emphasized the strong impact of the apocrypha on the medieval sensibility, but did not explain their strength which enabled them to make such a big impact and fit into the medieval worldview, the understanding of medieval man's world. The research has shown that this could happen for several reasons because medieval world was too complex in every way. However, medieval man understood its complexity on the principle of of binary relations in the society. Since the apocrypha are heretic writings, and those represented in the Tkonski zbornik originate from the heretics with highly dualistic view of the world as those in medieval heresis: Bogomil – Bosnian Christians, Qatar, pataren and others, dualism turned out to be one of the important factors why the apocrypha left a big impression on the mind of medieval man. However, the apocrypha are works which expose biblical themes in a highly imaginative, mythical and fantastic way whether they are related to the history of the world, its end or the famous biblical figures among who precedes Jesus Christ. Additionally, they are quite enriched by pagan and magical motives/motifs, and one of them essentially related to the Christianity is the Grail – the most wanted and the most mysterious subject od the Middle Ages. All this affected their popularity, the mental and spiritual structure of medieval man equally infused by pagan and Christian spirituality. And in all this great role was played by the Glagolitics, compilers of the Tkonian collection who by the careful selection of the apocrypha, their adjustement to the other content of the collection, careful composition and similar stylistic procedures additionally burdened those texts with their own ideas and resoning about the relations between a man, God and the world.
