The ultimate goal of this thesis is to investigate and analyze the impact of climate change on maritime activities, with a particular emphasis on changes occurring in the marine environment, maritime infrastructure, and operational aspects of maritime activities. Climate change represents one of the greatest challenges of today, and its impact on maritime activities is becoming increasingly pronounced. Rising sea levels, changes in ocean currents, increased frequency and intensity of extreme weather events, and ocean acidification are some aspects of climate change that directly affect maritime activities. The thesis consists of five main chapters. The introductory part explains the importance of maritime activities for the global economy and defines the issues related to climate change. The second chapter provides an overview of key climate changes and their effects on the marine environment. The third chapter focuses on the impact of these changes on maritime infrastructure, including ports, shipyards, and waterways. The fourth chapter analyzes the operational challenges faced by the maritime sector, such as navigation safety, route changes, and increased costs. The fifth chapter provides an overview of possible adaptation measures and strategies to mitigate the negative effects of climate change on maritime activities. The conclusion emphasizes the need for urgent and coordinated actions at the global, regional, and local levels to reduce the negative effects of climate change on maritime activities. It also highlights the importance of further research and the development of innovative technologies that can contribute to the sustainability of the maritime sector in a changing climate.
