Abstract
Danas zahvaljujući suvremenim pristupima u prihvaćenosti procesa zdravstvene njege medicinske sestre imaju mogućnosti procjenjivati potrebe umirućih bolesnika, dijagnosticirati probleme i prilagoditi intervencije koje će osigurati najveću razinu kvalitete zdravstvene njege.

Nurses are working at all levels of care - primary, secondary and tertiary, and outside the health care system by providing assistance in maintaining and improving health and fostering ill. It is extremely important role of nurses in assisting patients who are living in the end times in order to ensure a painless and dignified death. Theories of health care describe nursing models that are directed to providing more and better care for dying patients. By adopting the process of health care as a systematic and logical approach to diagnose and resolve problems of dying patients, nursing diagnoses have become an indispensable part of everyday nursing practice. Historically, defining the role of a nurse called "care" stressed the diversity of the role of nurses from health promotion to prevent complications in the last days of life. Theories of health care are under influence of specific education, attitudes, experiences and environments of nurses that were implemented in practice but there is a common concern for dying patients. Today, thanks to modern approaches in the acceptance process of health care nurses are able to assess the needs of dying patients, diagnose problems and adjust interventions that ensure the highest level of quality health care.
