Abstract In seinem Roman „Tauben im Gras“ (1951) benutzt Wolfgang Koeppen (23. Juni 1906 – 15.
Abstract (croatian) U romanu „Tauben im Gras“ (1951; hrv. Golubovi u travi) Wolfgang Koeppen (23. lipnja 1906 – 15. ožujka 1996) rabi razne intermedijalne i intertekstualne reference kao tehniku proširivanja konteksta i značenja radnje. Na taj način on omogućuje bolji uvid i dublje razumijevanje djelovanja likova, kao i drugačije polazište za samu analizu ovoga djela. Stvarni i izmišljenicitatio događajima i mjestima, filmu i glazbi, novinskim člancima i reklamama postižu neposredan uvid u višeslojnost značenja tih na prvi pogled jednodimenzionalnih dijelova teksta.
Abstract (english) In his novel „Tauben im Gras“ (1951; eng. Pigeons on the Grass) Wolfgang Koeppen (June 23, 1906 - March 15, 1996) uses a variety of intermediary and intertextual references as a technique of expanding the context and meaning of plot. This allows a better insight and deeper understanding of how the characters act, and offers an alternative starting point for the analysis. Using both real and fictional references to events and places, film and music, as well as newspaper articles and advertisements, Koeppen achieves a more direct insight into the multiple layers of meaning of these at first glance one-dimensional parts of the text. Through these quotes it is possible to interpret the displayed rooted problems of post-war German society arising from its recent war past, and their burden of adapting to new circumstances and changes resulting from exposure to the occupation by the United States. The novel has a socio-critical character and displays a number of characters and their actions within one day (February 20, 1951), which are described in the novel. Using intermedia and intertextual quotations Koeppen has achieved an assembly technique that is very similar to filmmaking and gives an unusual character to this novel, in which we, through almost cinematic scenes, experience life under the American occupation in post-war Germany. This paper discusses the importance of those references for the understanding of the text.
