Abstract
Predmet ovog diplomskog rada je istraživanje i analiza pseudo-poslovica pronađenih u Gospodaru prstenova J. R. R. Tolkiena. Korpus se sastoji od 50 izvornih poslovica preuzetih iz romana i 50 hrvatskih prijevoda Zlatka Crnkovića. Poslovice su najčešće jezgrovite, poznate i općenite istinite izreke koje govore o zajedničkom iskustvu ili savjetu, prepoznatljivog su oblika i prenose se s koljena na koljeno. Poslovice su često metaforične i koriste se formulativnim jezikom, a imaju i jezičnu i kulturnu važnost. Paremiološka analiza identificira i predočava važne poslovične odrednice u Tolkienovim pseudo-poslovicama poput učestalih poslovičnih struktura i formula, sintaktičkog paralelizma, leksičkih elemenata, i stilskih figura. Rad također uključuje kontrastivnu analizu pseudo-poslovica i hrvatskih prijevoda koja ukazuje na njihov stupanj ekvivalencije.
Abstract (english)
The subject matter of this thesis is the research and analysis of the pseudo-proverbs found in J. R. R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings. The corpus consists of 50 original proverbs taken from the novel and 50 Croatian translations done by Zlatko Crnković. Proverbs are most commonly, concise, well-known sentences about a general truth, shared experience, or a piece of advice recorded in a memorable form and handed down from generation to generation. Proverbs are often metaphorical and use formulaic language and they have both linguistic and cultural importance. The paremiological analysis consists of identifying and demonstrating important proverbial features in Tolkien’s pseudo-proverbs such as common proverbial structures and formulae, syntactical parallelism, lexical elements and stylistic devices. The thesis also includes the contrastive analysis of Tolkien’s pseudo-proverbs and Croatian translation which indicates their degree of equivalence.
