Il presente lavoro illustra una ricerca sulla lingua scritta sul web, precisamente, viene analizzata la lingua usata su vari forum italiani. Lo scopo di questa ricerca era di raccogliere e descrivere le caratteristiche della varietà scritta, utilizzata nelle situazioni perlopiù informali e in questo tipo della communicazione asincrona e determinare così in quale misura queste caratteristiche distaccano dalla norma. L’opposizione principale in qualsiasi lingua consiste nella differenza tra la varietà scritta e quella parlata. Come saputo, la lingua scritta è stabile, sistematicamente e deliberatamente standardizzata e cambia assai lentamente di quella parlata. Tuttavia, molte forme di discorso, cioè della lingua informale, vengono trasmesse in forma scritta che porta alla differenza sempre meno evidente tra queste due varietà linguistiche e provocando l’allontanamento dalle regole rigide della lingua scritta. In questo lavoro ci siamo serviti dall’analisi descrittiva osservando e descrivendo le modificazioni legate alla varietà scritta sotto l’influsso dei nuovi media. Il corpus per la ricerca consisteva da sequenze dialogiche trovate su vari forum italiani. Usando l’analisi sistematica degli esempi, abbiamo individuato e linguisticamente analizzato le peculiarità dei dialoghi che poi sono state classificate in base alle loro caratteristiche morfologiche, sintattiche o lessicali. Secondo la ricerca, concludiamo che non tutti i livelli dell’analisi linguistica sono suscettibili di variare nella stessa misura. La variabilità è massima per il lessico e grafia e ridotta per quanto riguarda la sintassi. Di più, abbiamo notato l’esistenza di un forte legame tra l’identità di un’individuo e le sue scelte linguistiche.

The subject of this paper is language used on the internet, in particular, language analysis of italian forums. The aim of this research was to gather and describe the characteristics of written language variety used in informal situations, or asynchronous type of communication as well as determinate in what measure these characteristics deviate from the linguistic norm. The difference between written and spoken varieties make the main opposition in every language. The written language is known as stable, systematically and deliberately standardized system that changes considerably slower than the spoken one. However, many forms of spoken, informal variety are transmitted in written one, which leads to less obvious differences between these two language varieties. In this work, we used the descriptive method by observing and describing the changes related to the written variety influenced by new forms of media. The corpus of the research consisted of conversations, precisely discussions on various topics, found on several italian forums. Through the systematic analysis of examples we have singled out and linguistically analyzed the peculiarities of conversations that were later classified according to their morphological, syntactic, or lexical features.This research has shown that not all the levels of language analysis are likely to alter in the same measure. Variations are most common when it comes to orthography and lexis and least when it comes to syntax. Also, we have noticed the existence of a strong link between identity of an individual and his language choices.
