This graduate thesis analyses anthroponymic stylistic procedures in the novels of Mato Lovrak and Ivan Kušan. Anthroponymy is observed through the types of names, name formulas of characters and it is based on a comparison of anthroponyms and actions of characters. There is a clearly visible reason for naming some of the characters, which corresponds to the characterization, while it cannot be clearly distinguished with other characters. Anthroponymic analysis was elaborated on the following novels: The Wild Boy (cro. Divlji dječak), The Nine Brave (cro. Devetorica hrabrih), The Train in the Snow (cro. Vlak u snijegu) and The Company of Pero Kvržica (cro. Društvo Pere Kvržice) by Mate Lovrak and on the novels: You Are Lying, Melita (cro. Lažeš, Melita), Homework (cro. Domaća zadaća), The Mystery of Green Hill (cro. Uzbuna na Zelenom vrhu) and The Mysterious Boy (cro. Zagonetni dječak) by Ivan Kušan. The two novels covered in this graduate thesis belong to the Romanesque series Kokoteka and therefore some of the character names are permanent. Anthroponyms are attached into the corresponding layers of the name and compared given the matter of appointment in relation to the nature of the selected characters. This graduate thesis also mentions the limit of the anthroponyms in relation to the appellations from which they originate. In Ivan Kušan's novels there is a visible inclination to use the complete character name formula, while in Mate Lovrak's novels there is a noticeable aspiration to name the characters using names and nicknames. Most anthroponyms are stylistically emphasized by both authors.
