Tourism, as one of the most developed industries in Croatia affects the development of the hinterland, such as an impact on the development of coastal towns. World trends in tourism are changing with every season, so do the tourist activities move from coastal centers towards the hinterland. The same case is with the Dalmatian hinterland, which is located on an attractive location, not far from the coast/ sea. Dalmatian hinterland is available to tourists and visitors from all directions, whether traveling by car, plane or train. The stage of development of tourism in the Dalmatian hinterland is not remarkable, but the potential for better development and a richer offer is very much visible. Since the Dalmatian hinterland is rich in cultural and natural beauty, there is room for the development of cultural tourism, just like room for the development of rural tourism. The tourism brings many opportunities for personal profit, but also offers an opportunity for employment, and the ability to act off-the-season, which is expressed in the coastal part of Croatia. Dalmatian hinterland is defined by the problem which is reflected in the fact that more and more young residents are leaving the rural areas due to lack of employment opportunities within it, which is the reason of rapid decay of the villages. The changes that have occurred with the emergence of tourism are positive and are related to the construction of state, local and access roads, water supply networks, and create jobs for local people. Also, tourism encourages care for the environment, natural and cultural heritage.
