Abstract (english) The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between objective employability, perceived future employability, work self-efficacy, factors from the socioeconomic domain (level of education of parents, desired level of education, satisfaction with family finances, work status of parents) with the intention to go abroad. The sample consisted of students in the final grades of secondary vocational and technical schools in the area of the city of Zadar (N=440). Data collection took place in the classroom through an electronic questionnaire. In the questionnaire, students provided sociodemographic factors and answers to questions from the Scale of Instrumental Reasons for Going Abroad (Domitrović, 2021), the Scale of Perceived Future Employability of Students (Vršić, 2020; Gunawan et al., 2019) and the Abbreviated Work Self-Efficacy Scale (Vršić, 2020; Schyns and von Collani, 2002). The results of the research determined that objective employability was not a statistically significant predictor of the intention to go abroad, but perceived future employability was. In particular, students who scored higher on the Scale of Perceived Future Employability had positive attitudes about their intention to go abroad. Furthermore, a statistically significant negative contribution of satisfaction with family finances and a statistically significant positive contribution of the desired level of education in explaining the intention to go abroad were also determined. A lower level of satisfaction with the financial situation in the family and a more pronounced desire to achieve higher levels of education in the future predicted positive attitudes about going abroad. No statistically significant contribution of the self-efficacy of the completed level of education of the mother and father in explaining the intention to go abroad was found.
