Abstract Zaštita Internet umjetnosti zbog svoje efemernosti od nas zahtjeva okretanje novim metodama u njihovoj dokumentaciji i očuvanju zbog suočenosti s konstantnim tehnološkim promjenama hardvera i softvera koji su sastavni dio tog oblika umjetnosti. Osim dokumentiranja metapodataka, sačuvati sadržaj djela te njegovih dijelova poput softvera i hardvera obuhvaćaju suštinu umjetničkog djela, kontekst, funkciju i ponašanje.
Abstract (english) Preservation of Internet art because of its ephemeral nature requires from us to look for new methods in their documentation and preservation, faced with constant technological changes of hardware and software that are part of this art form. Its preservation requires more complex and abstract methods of protection than are the methods for protection of static media. An important aspect is social memory that is largely focused on the future, ie., in protecting Internet art its important to take into account the hardships with which the work may be faced and what information will be needed for preservation. In addition to documenting metadata, to preserve the content of the work and its parts, such as software and hardware, include the essence of artwork, context, function and behavior. Proposed strategies for preserving Internet art are storage, migration, emulation and reinterpretation, and even though many artists and museums are trying to document or save Internet art, often many Internet works have already been deleted by the developers, dysfunctional due to outdated software and network changes, or not in working order due to incomplete or outdated hardware. The threat to Internet art emerges in the form of technology, institutions and laws, and we need a new way of looking at Internet art so that it can be documented, protected and treated in the same way as any other kind of art. Museum institutions, which have their whole life spent in refining appropriate monomania for one subject, now have to face cases that naturally tend to duplicate, even seeking it for preservation.
