Abstract (english) A large number of individuals were exposed to at least some form of traumatic experience in childhood (Mosley-Johnson et al., 2019), which includes various types of abuse such as emotional, physical and sexual, and neglect (Hughes et al. , 2017). Given that such experiences can have long-term negative consequences in later stages of life (Shapiro et al., 2014), and that they have been shown to be risk factors for mental health and wellbeing (Botha and van den Berg, 2016), investigating variables related to trauma exposure is essential to understanding their possible adverse effects. Previous research showed that childhood traumas are associated with lower life satisfaction - subjective perception of quality of life (Mosley-Johnson et al. , 2019). Exposure to trauma can also be manifested in the field of education, in a way that it is associated with lower academic success (Porche et al., 2011). On the other hand, life satisfaction is positively corelated with academic succes (Larson i sur., 2017). Accordingly, the aim of this study is to examine the relationship between childhood trauma, life satisfaction, and academic success. The research was conducted on a sample of Croatian students, by voluntary response to an online questionnaire. A Revised and Extended version of the Turkish Childhood Trauma Questionnaire CTQ-33 (Sar et al., 2020) was used to examine childhood trauma, and life satisfaction was tested with the particle 'How satisfied are you overall with your life?' to which participants responded on a scale of 0 to 10. Academic success was examined as part of a sociodemographic questionnaire, in which participants had to answer what average grade they achieved in the previous year of education. The obtained results are in line with previous research - overall result on the scale of childhood trauma is in statistically significant negative correlation with both life satisfaction and academic success, and academic success and life satisfaction are in statistically significant positive correlation. Participants that had a higher score on childhood trauma questionnaire also had a lower assessment of life satisfaction and have lower academic success. Besides that, participants who rated life satisfaction as higher also have higher academic success.
