Rezultati istraživanja ukazuju kako roditelji pružaju djeci vrlo dobru potporu (AS=4,23) kako bi se djeca bavila tjelesnim aktivnostima i to najviše u vidu davanja financijske potpore (AS=4,8). Prostor za poboljšanje postoji u vidu njihova aktivna uključivanja na način da se pridruže djeci tijekom same provedbe tjelesnih aktivnosti (AS=3,37) te da im posluže kao uzor (AS=3,78). Nadalje, rezultati ukazuju kako su djeca malo više motivirana unutarnjim čimbenicima lokusa uzročnosti, a manje vanjskim čimbenicima (AS=4,31).
Abstract (english) The family is undoubly the mail caracter in the child's primary socialization where from the very beginning of the socialization process parents play a crucial role in all patterns of behavior, including those from which the later habit of exercise and various forms of involvement in kinesiological content (Perasović, 2010). All children need parental support which is manifested trough emotional support, caunseling support and number of different forms of material and financial assistance (Woolgar and Power, 1993, according to Bosnar, 2003). The theory of the locus of causality describes, among other things, why is behaviour regulated in individuals and answers the question 'How autonomus (self-determinated) or controlled is one's behaviour?' and 'Which internal or external factors and in what way affect someone's behavior?'. In sports contex a locus of causality uhat is driven by internal factors is desirable when children are physically active because they want to be themselves and because they enjoy physical activites. The locus ofa causality that is driven by external factors such as 'parental persuasion', rewards or things like thatoften greatly influenses children's dissatisfaction and abandonment of physical activity because of their individual sense of control. The primary goal of the study was to determine the association between parental support and the locus of causality for exercise in kinesiological activities of primary school children. Secundary objectives were to examine differences in parental support and locus of causality regarding to gender and physical activity of parents and children. The results of the research indicate that parents provide great support (AS=4.23) for their children's engagemant in physical activities, mostly in the form of financial support (AS=4.8). There is room for improvement in terms of their active involvement by joining the children during the implementation of physical activities (AS=3.37) and to serve as a role model (3.78). Furthermore. The resalts indicate that children are slightly more motivated by internal and less by external factors (AS=4.31). In addition, statistically significant association was not found between parental support and the causality locus for physical exercise in primary school children. A significant association has been found in children who are led by their parents to attend physical activities and serve as a role model for them and their internal locus of causality that they practice because they want to and not because they have to. In addition, it was found that parents who are physically active provide greater parental support to children to carry out physical activities. The results of the research can help devise strategies aimed at increasing the overall level of physical activitiy of primary school children. Future resaurch should include significantly larger and stratified samples of respondents, in order to generalize the results and to study in more detail the motivational structure of children in the context of physical activity.
