Abstract Cilj ovog istraživanja bio je opisati svakodnevicu slijepih i slabovidnih osoba te utvrditi njihovu percepciju kvalitete života u privatnoj i javnoj sferi. Za sakupljanje podataka primijenjena je metoda polustrukturiranog intervjua, a istraživanje je obavljeno na uzorku kojeg čine šest slijepih i pet slabovidnih osoba koji su u radnom odnosu. Rezultati istraživanja pokazali su različito percipiranje subjektivne kvalitete života između slijepih i slabovidnih osoba. U radu se posebno stavio naglasak na obiteljski, društveni i profesionalni aspekt kvalitete života slijepih i slabovidnih osoba. Prema rezultatima istraživanja, slijepe i slabovidne osobe imaju veliku potporu od strane članova obitelji i svojih životnih partnera. Također su naveli da im je Udruga za slijepe i slabovidne osobe velika potpora u životu. Udruga kao takva nije samo mjesto za druženje, već im pomaže pri obrazovanju, zaposlenju i nabavi očnih i tiflotehničkih pomagala koji su im neophodni za kvalitetan život. Budući da svi sugovornici rade, ispričali su svoja iskustva traženja posla, susrete s nekim oblicima diskriminacije, iskustva na radnom mjestu te kako se snalaze, kao i u kakvom su odnosu s poslodavcem po pitanju prilagodbe radnog mjesta njihovim potrebama. Zaključno su izrazili nezadovoljstvo trenutačnim socijalnim politikama, u smislu neprilagođene cestovne infrastrukture, javnog prijevoza, nedovoljnih novčanih izdataka, također i nedostatnog financiranja većine pomagala od strane države, koja su izuzetno skupa pa samim tim ih ne može svatko priuštiti.
Abstract (english) The aim of this research was to describe the everyday life of blind and partially sighted people and to determine their perception of quality of life in the private and public spheres. A semi-structured interview method was used to collect data, and the survey was conducted on a sample of six blind and five visually impaired people who are employed. The results of the research showed different perceptions of the subjective quality of life between blind and partially sighted people. The paper places special emphasis on the family, social and professional aspect of the quality of life of blind and partially sighted people. According to the results of the research, blind and partially sighted people have great support from family members and their life partners, they also stated that the Association for Blind and Visually Impaired People has great support in life. As such, the association is not only a place for socializing, but also helps them with education, employment and the purchase of eye typhlotechnical aids that are necessary for a quality life. Since all the interviewees work, they shared their experiences of looking for a job, encounters with some forms of discrimination, experiences in the workplace and how they cope, what is their relationship with the employer in terms of adapting the workplace to their needs. In conclusion, they expressed dissatisfaction with current social policies, in terms of unadapted road infrastructure, public transport, insufficient financial expenditures, as well as non-funding by the State of most aids that are extremely expensive, and therefore not everyone can afford them.
