Abstract
U ovom radu je opisan Cionizam kao nacionalni i politički pokret koji je doveo do osnutka države Izrael. Rad je koncipiran tako da se prati razvoj cionističke ideje kroz modernu povijest, sa židovskom poviješću u tom trenutku. U radu su opisani motivi koji su doveli do stvaranja ovog pokreta, te marginalizacija židovskog stanovništva u tadašnjoj Europi. Spominju se prve cionističke organizacije, njihovi tvorci i njihov utjecaj i djelovanje na tadašnje židovsko društvo. Zasebno su opisani tvorac modernog političkog cionizma i Theodor Herzl i njegovo djelo, te je rad zaključen osnutkom države Izrael.
Abstract (english)
This paper describes Zionism as a national and politcal movement that led to the founding of the state of Israel. The work is conceived in a way that trecaes the development of the Zionist idea through modern history, along with Jewsih history at the time. The paper describes the motives that led to the creation of this movement, and the marginalization of the Jewish population in Europe at the time. Mention is made of the first Zionist organizations, their creators and their influence and action on the Jewish society. The creator of modern political Zionism, Theodor Herzl and his work are described, and the paper is concluded by foundation of the state of Israel.
