This final paper focuses on the neuroscientific approach to multilingualism. The most important questions asked were the anatomy of the multilingual brain, differences between multilingual and monolingual brains and the advantages of the multilingual one. In the first chapter the basics of the brain anatomy were discussed. How does the brain work and what are the parts responsible for language production and comprehension? In the second chapter of this paper, the multilingual brain was researched. Advantages and disadvantages of multilingualism were discussed and the functional separation in the bilingual brain was elaborated. The most important fact discussed is that multilingualism delays the onset of Alzerheimers dementia due to the fact thatlanguage experience provides a kind of protection to the brain. The third chapter is where speech defects were explained. Some involve only comprehension problems, some involve learning difficulties, some language production. In the last chapter bimodal bilinguals were presented. Bimodal bilinguals are people who speak one sign and one spoken language. To sum up, the brains of deaf people function in the same way as the one of non deaf speakers, because the same part of the brain is activated, whether it was a spoken or a sign language. What is clear is that bilingualism and multilingualism give a wide range of advantages to humans. Ranging from neurological diseases, like dementia and Alzehimer's disease to social and cultural advantages.
