Abstract (croatian) Ingeborg Bachmann je austrijska spisateljica, rođena u Klagenfurtu 25. lipnja 1926.
Abstract (english) Ingeborg Bachmann is an Austrian writer who was born on 25 June 1926 in Klagenfurt. The author, now included in the circle of the group 47, developed the Todesarten-project in 1962, a cycle of works representing the image of the post-war Austrian society with an accent on relations between the sexes. During her lifetime, i.e. until 1973, only the roman Malina was published, which actually belonged to the Todesarten-project. The Todesarten-Projekt includes the books Malina, The Book of Franza, Requiem for Fanny Goldmann and other texts. The books, which have become part of the Todesarten, describe the male and societal violence against women. The female characters who accept their victim status are on the verge of the loss of their identities, which they owe both to the society as well as to men. In the novel Malina, the single one of her works which was released during her lifetime, the female-male double figure fights against any given standard that denies women the right to speak, think and feel. In the Book of Franza, initailly entitled The Franza Case, the author describes violence within a patriarchal society which permits the main character to become subject to a man. The volume Simultan comprises out of short stories that deal with the crimes of the modern society, which brings privacy to the suffering of their female figures. All Bachmann's female characters live on the edge and cannot find a place in the modern society, which causes them to be ruled and violated by men, ultimately leading to their selfdestruction
