This master evaluates all the knowledge related to the organization of health care in Dubrovnik in the period from the 13th century to the 17th century. Economic growth, capital inflows, transit port, and geographical position positioned Dubrovnik on the political map of Europe in the Middle Ages and later. In this direction, health care has developed that has reached an enviable level. We know this based on the different references that shape one health system. Therefore, legal acts related to hygiene and health regulations were processed. Also, the medical staff was studied in several aspects such as origin, skills, education, property status, and activities in other cities and municipalities. The problem of multiple plague epidemics that affected Dubrovnik and caused enormous damage was specially addressed. It shows the functioning of the City in these situations and special emphasis on the quarantine and anti-epidemic service of the sanitary authority- officials casamortuorum. In addition to health institutions, anti-epidemic service, medical staff, and regulations, there is an extremely good medical service with a large number of herbs needed for treatment.
