Abstract
Cilj rada je prikazati teorijska polazišta relacijskog modela podataka te mogućnosti njegove praktične primjene kod bibliografskih podataka. U skladu s tim, rad moţe poslužiti u svrhu daljnjeg istraživanja spomenute teme na teoretskoj te implementacije na praktičnoj razini. Uvodno, rad stavlja fokus na povijest pristupa bibliografskim podacima u vidu njihove pohrane i dohvaćanja. Time su opisani sami počeci procesa automatizacije bibliografskih podataka, koji s vremenom sve više ostvaruju svoju... More računalnu iskoristivost, a time i nove mogućnosti. Kao jedne od glavnih prekretnica kod shvaćanja i prikaza bibliografskih podataka u računalno čitljivom obliku predstavljen je MARC format koji je definirao univerzalnu razmjenjivost, čime je dodatno potaknut razvoj računalnih, a kasije i online kataloga. Isto tako, jednu od prekretnica u procesu automatizacije bibliografskih podataka čini i FRBR konceptualni model koji je naglasio glavne prednosti ER modela podataka u odnosu na prethodne modele podataka poput hijerarhijskog. U nastavku je predstavljen relacijski model kao takav te su njegove karakteristike poput povezivanja entiteta i nasljeđivanja svojstva prikazani upravo pomoću primjera bibliografskih podataka. Također, rad prikazuje i praktičnu primjenu SQL jezika kod interakcije s relacijskim bazama bibliografskih podataka, pa su tako ilustrirane radnje povezivanja relacijskih tablica, prije svega kako bi se podaci mogli okupiti te dohvatiti ovisno o interesu te ih filtrirati i sortirati na temelju određenog kriterija. Na taj način rad prikazuje osnove rada sa relacijskim bazama, što može doprinijeti daljnjem istraţivanju interakcije bibliografskih podataka strukturiranih pomoću ovog modela. Less
Abstract (english)
The aim of this paper is to present the theoretical starting points of the relational data model and the possibilities of its practical application in bibliographic data. Accordingly, the paper can serve the purpose of further research of the mentioned topic on a theoretical as well as a practical level. In introduction, the paper focuses on the history of access to bibliographic data in the form of their storage and retrieval. Thus, the very beginnings of bibliographic data automation are... More described, which increasingly achieve their computational usability over time. One of the main milestones in the understanding a presentation of bibliographic data was the MARC format, which defined the universal usability of bibliographic data, which further encouraged the development of online catalogues. Also, one of the milestones in the process of automation of bibliographic data is the FRBR conceptual model, which emphasized the main advantages of the ER data model compared to previous data models such as the hierarchical. Furthermore, the relational model is presented and its characteristics, such as linking entities and inheriting properties are presented using examples of bibliographic data. Also, the paper presents the practical application of SQL language when interacting with relational databases of bibliographic data, thus illustrating the actions of linking relational tables, primarily so that data can be collected and retrieved depending on interest, as well as filtered and sorted based on certain criteria. In this way, the paper presents the basics of working with relational databases, which can contribute to further research of the interaction of bibliographic data structured using this model. Less
