Analizirani su utjecaji, odnosno čimbenici tih promjena i posljedice načina promjena korištenja zemljišta. Prvo su sagledana opća geografska obilježja Južne Hrvatske koja uvjetuju način i promjenu korištenja zemljišta. Glavni dio rada odnosi se na tri vremenska razdoblja, kroz koja se promatrala promjena. ... More kategorija vinograda uzrokovana filokserom. Također, postupno dolazi do industrijalizacije, deagrarizacije i iseljavanja stanovnika, posebice iz zaobalja i s otoka. S obzirom na ekonomske i političke promjene, postupno dolazi do zapuštanja poljoprivrednih površina, ali ne još u velikoj mjeri. Drugo razdoblje, od 1945. do 1991., označava značajniju deagrarizaciju, uzrokovanu ekonomskim i političkim čimbenicima. Upravo od 1960-ih počinje se znatno mijenjati gospodarska struktura stanovništva i djelatnosti, od kada poljoprivreda kao djelatnost gubi značaj koji je imala u prethodnom razdoblju. U trećem razdoblju, od 1991., nastavljaju se procesi iz prethodnog razdoblja, sa još intenzivnijom promjenom načina korištenja zemljišta, gdje je sukcesija degradirane šume na poljoprivrednim zemljištima prevladavajući proces.
Na kraju su analizirane mjere ruralnog razvoja na području Južne Hrvatske, u vidu čimbenika promjene korištenja zemljišta, odnosno OPG-ova i potpora. Iako je broj OPG-ova i korisnika potpora uglavnom u porastu zadnjih godina, rezultati poljoprivrede prije i nakon ulaska u EU i primjene mjera ruralnog razvoja na razini države ne pokazuju znatna poboljšanja u svim sektorima poljoprivredne proizvodnje. S time se da zaključiti da je još rano govoriti o utjecajima poticajnih mjera koje bilježe određeni rast tek posljednjih godina, kao i o njihovom utjecaju na promjenu korištenja zemljišta Južne Hrvatske. Less Abstract (english) In this thesis, changes in land use in the area of Southern Croatia from the beginning of the 20th century until today are investigated. The influences, i.e. the factors of these changes and the consequences of the way of land use changes are analyzed. The general geographical features of Southern Croatia, which determine the manner and change of land use, are first examined. ... More period, from 1900 to 1945, the biggest change was in the category of vineyards caused by phylloxera. Also, there is a gradual industrialization, deagrarization and emigration of inhabitants, especially from inland and from the islands. Given the economic and political changes, agricultural land is gradually being neglected, but not yet to a large extent. The second period, from 1945 to 1991, marked a more significant deagrarization, caused by economic and political factors. It is precisely from the 1960s that the economic structure of the population and activities began to change significantly, since agriculture as an activity has lost the significance it had in the previous period. In the third period, since 1991, the processes from the previous period continued, with an even more intensive change in the way of land use, where the succession of degraded forests on agricultural land is the predominant process.
Finally, rural development measures in the area of Southern Croatia are analyzed, in the form of factors of land use change, i.e. family farms and subsidies. Although the number of family farms and beneficiaries has been mainly increasing in recent years, the results of agriculture before and after EU accession and the implementation of rural development measures at the state level do not show significant improvements in all sectors of agricultural production. It can be concluded that it is too early to talk about the effects of incentive measures that have recorded a certain growth only in recent years, as well as their impact on land use change in Southern Croatia.
