Abstract
The main goal of this paper is to provide the analysis of Christian symbolisms found in The Chronicles of Narnia series. The paper begins by explaining the importance of works such as Lewis’ The Chronicles of Narnia for the understanding of Christianity. The second chapter introduces Christian fiction, defining the rules under which said genre operates as well as studying its progression through the centuries. The third chapter discusses C. S. Lewis’ life, portraying his road to conversion and... More development of The Chronicles of Narnia. Chapter four extensively analyses Christian symbolism, beginning with The Magician’s Nephew and its correlation with “Genesis”, following with detailed breakdown of Aslan’s character and his representation of Christ. Further through the chapter different types of believers are represented by drawing parallels with the Bible and its characters, including the study of symbolism regarding baptism. The chapter concludes with the connection between “Revelation” and The Last Battle. The analysis showed the importance of Christian principles, their use in literary works and the impact of The Chronicles of Narnia on the genre, as well as its correlation with the Bible. Less

Glavni cilj ovog rada je pružiti uvid u analizu kršćanskih simbola koji se nalaze u Kronikama iz Narnije. Rad započinje objašnjavanjem važnosti djela poput Kronika iz Narnije od C. S. Lewisa za razumijevanje kršćanstva. Drugo poglavlje predstavlja kršćansku fikciju, definirajući pravila za navedeni žanr, kao i proučavajući njegov napredak kroz stoljeća. Treće poglavlje analizira život C. S. Lewisa, prikazujući njegov prelazak na kršćanstvo i razvijanje Kronika iz Narnije. Četvrto poglavlje... More detaljno analizira kršćanske simbole, započinjući u Čarobnjakovom Nećaku i njegovoj povezanosti s “Otkrivenjem” i nastavljajući s dubinskom analizom Aslanovog karaktera, kao i njegovo predstavljanje Krista. Nadalje su kroz poglavlje prikazane različite vrste vjernika koje se povezuju s primjerima iz Biblije i njezinim likovima, uključujući proučavanje simbola vezanih uz krštenje. Poglavlje završava povezivanjem “Otkrivenja” i Posljednje Bitke.
