The period of construction of quatrefoil plan churches in continental Croatia is matched by three periods of intensive work between thirties of the 18th century and the beginning of 19th century. This text is based on observing it within the cultural-historical context, geographical distribution and their typological significance. During the analysis and interpretation of the spatial layout solutions, the development path and the place of origin of this architectural type is presented. Quatrefoil plan churches are shown and interpreted within the corpus of Central European sacral architecture of the late Baroque, in the context of the socio-political situation, relationship between the patrons and workshops and the necessities and needs of time. Through selected examples the main features of the architecture of the time are shown, the course of development and the embodiment of new ideas. The course of the idea transfer to the European areas by intermediary fixed assets and workshops as the main carriers of new solutions and innovations, is presented.
