Abstract
Quatre pièces d'Eugène Ionesco (Tueur sans gages, Rhinocéros, Le piéton de l'air et Le roi se meurt), écrites entre 1957 et 1962, font partie du cycle de Bérenger. Ces pièces ont pour personnage principal Bérenger. Dans ce cycle, Ionesco traite les thèmes différents : mort, vieillissement, solitude, souffrance, peur, mal et angoisse. Ces pièces sont plus longues, par rapport à celles écrites au début de sa carrière littéraire ; l'intrigue est plus complexe, ainsi que la psychologie des personnages. Ce travail a pour but d'analyser la dramaturgie, les personnages principaux et les thèmes des pièces du théâtre qui font partie du cycle de Bérenger.

Četiri djela Eugèna Ionesca (Neplaćeni ubojica, Nosorog, Nebeski pješak i Kralj umire), napisana između 1957. i 1962., pripadaju Bérangerovom ciklusu. Glavni lik ovih djela je Béranger. U ovom ciklusu Ionesco obrađuje različite teme : smrt, starost, samoću, patnju, strah, zlo te tjeskobu. Ova djela su duža, u usporedbi s onima napisanim na početku njegove književne karijere ; radnja je složenija, kao i psihologija likova. Cilj ovoga rada je analizirati dramaturgiju, glavne likove i teme djela koja pripadaju Bérangerovom ciklusu.
Abstract (english)
Four plays by Eugène Ionesco (The Killer, Rhinoceros, A Stroll in the Air, Exit the King) written between 1957 and 1962 belong to the Bérenger cycle. The main character of these plays is Bérenger. In this cycle Ionesco deals with different themes: death, ageing, loneliness, suffering, fear, evil and anxiety. These plays are longer than those written at the beginning of his literary career; the plot is more complex as well as the psychology of the characters. The aim of this paper is to analyse the dramaturgy, the main characters and the themes of the plays which belong to the Bérenger cycle.
