Abstract (english) Luck based games are one of the leading addictions in young population and adolescents of modern age. They mostly include gambling games, lottery, raffle, lotto, but their influence can be also seen in modern computer games, where they appear as one of the aspects of the game. In a general sense, these are the types of games in which the result is unknown and is predominantly dependent on chance and luck, as opposed to classic games where knowledge and dexterity prevail. Historically, the oldest luck-based game is gambling, dating back to ancient times. In the modern age, the most popular games of chance can be complex, such as various card games (black-jack, preference, poker). In addition to card games, modern day games of chance, such as lotto and slot machine games, are also widespread. Modern gambling is based on the concept of probability theory. It is a field of mathematics that studies relationships among random events. This concept is important because gambling is based on the concept of unpredictability, although some regularities can be found between a large number of cases. In modern computer and console games, the concept of "loot box" is introduced. It's a virtual box that may or may not contain specific content, such as special and hard-to-get rewards. This concept is based on betting because the user or the buyer cannot know exactly what they will get, or whether they will get anything out of the box at all. This concept is already regulated in gambling law in several countries of the world, such as the federal state of Hawaii, Belgium and the Netherlands. Gambling addicts have certain symptoms that may indicate a problem. It is important to recognize the potential risk of progression to addiction to pathological gambling or gambling. It is characteristic that all addicts of such games have a big problem in acknowledging the existence of the problem itself, which shows us that in the treatment, exceptional support is needed from family and loved ones. In order to prevent addiction at all, it is important to recognize the symptoms in a timely manner and to prevent them. The nurse also plays a big role in supporting the patient in his or her treatment.
