Abstract
U 7. st. pr. Kr. Grci po prvi puta planski ulaze u Jadran te potaknuti mnogobrojnim razlozima poĉinju osnivati svoje kolonije. O postanku tih naseobina i ţivotu u njima znamo zahvaljujući povijesnim izvorima i arheološkim istraţivanjima. Jedan od tih izvora je Pseudo Skilak, nepoznati autor iz 4. st. pr. Kr. koji je napisao djelo Peripl u kojem opisuje svoje putovanje Sredozemljem. Djelo je napisano u 25 poglavlja od kojih posljednjih 5 opisuje istoĉnu obalu Jadrana. U 22. poglavljuspominje se... More Herakleja, grĉki grad s lukom.Jedini dokaz o postojanju ove kolonije na našoj obali je novac, a zahvaljujući struĉnjacima koji su se pozabavili ovom problematikomznamo da je njezina kovnica trajala kroz 4. st. pr. Kr. Bronĉani heraklejski novac je podijeljen u tri nominalne vrijednosti koje pripadaju sirakuškom bronĉanom sistemu, a krase ga prikazi grĉkog junaka Herakla s njegovim glavnim atributima i legendom HPA, HPAK, HPAKA ili HPAKAE. Krajem 4. st. pr. Kr. heraklejska kovnica se gasi, a to znamo radi pojave IONIOS i DI prekova. Razlozi gašenja kolonije i njezine kovnice još su nepoznati, ali izgledno je da je glavni razlog pojava gusara i Ardidejaca u Jadranskom moru nakon smrti Dionizija Sirakuškog i slabljenja njegove drţave. Unatoĉ razliĉitim teorijama o ubikaciji ove kolonije, pitanje njezine stvarne lokacije je i dalje otvoreno i nerazjašnjeno. Less
Abstract (english)
The 7th century BC was the first time Greeks have entered the Adriatic. A lot of different reasons motivated Greeks to make foundations of the colonies in this area. Historical sources and archeological surveys give us information and details about those settlements and about the colonial living. One of the sources is Periplus, travel record written by Pseudo Scylax, the unknown authorwho lived in the 4th century BC. In 25 chapters long record he describes his Mediterranean journey.The last 5... More chapters tell us about the east Adriatic coast and the 22nd one mentions Herakleia, the Greek city with harbour. The only material record that shows us this colony existed on the Adriatic coast is themoney that was in the use back then. Results of the surveys done on this matter show us that cointhey used lasted through the 4th century BC. The bronze herakleian money with the display of theGreek hero Heracles with his main attributes and legend HPA, HPAK, HPAKA ili HPAKAE wasdivided in 3 nominal values that belong to Syracuse bronze system. Appearance of the IONIOS andDI re-mints at the end of 4th century BC tells us that was the time when Herakleia mint stopped with itswork. We could not say with definitively why the colony and its mint disappeared, but most likelyappearance of the pirates and Ardidaei after the death of Dionisyus of Syracuse and the weakeningof his country are the reason.
