Adolescenti mogu isprobati niz tvari, uključujući alkohol, kućne kemikalije (inhalante), lijekove na recept i lijekove bez recepta, ilegalne droge i cigarete.
Abstract (english) Subjective well-being is often used as a synonym for happiness. It is defined as a subjective evaluation of life that is filled with pleasant emotions without unpleasant emotions Life satisfaction is a cognitive component of subjective well-being and it represents degree to which a person positively evaluates the overall quality of their life as a whole.Person's enjoyment of pleasure is a possible cause of the consumption of addictive resources. Adolescence represents a significant period of development and upbringing of the person and marks the transition from childhood to adulthood. For many adolescents, the use of alcohol, drugs or other substances is just a part of growing up. Many of them try these substances only several times and stop, while others continue to use them regularly. Adolescents may try a variety of substances, including alcohol, home-based inhalants, prescription drugs and nonprescription drugs, illegal drugs, and cigarettes. This study aimed to examine whether there is a correlation between life satisfaction and the consumption of addictive substances among elementary school students. We also wanted to check whether there are differences in the use of addictive substances, depending on thegender and school success of students and their attitudes about certain narcotic drugs. The research was conducted in 2016/2017 in 34 primary schools of Zadar County by the Public Health Institute of Zadar County. The results of the seventh-grade students (the total of 1270 students), who were studied at the beginning of the school year, were used in the data analysis. The results have shown that the students who have experienced greater life-satisfaction, have been less addicted to drugs and have had more negative attitudes towards addictive substances. Also, a higher score on the lifesatisfaction scale has been associated with greater success in school, as well as negative attitudes towards the consumption of addictive substances. The students who had negative attitudes toward the use of addictive substances said they were less dependent on addictive drugs. Furthermore, boys have had more positive views on the consumption of addictive drugs than girls, and they have used narcotics more often (beer, wine, spirits and mixed drinks).
