My intention in this paper was to examine pre-school teacher's image of a child, his or her opinion about the characteristics of the modern curriculum of an early and pre-school period in education and the similarities between their image of a child and their opinion about a modern curriculum. My starting point in this paper was the hypothesis that pre-school teachers who work in institutions in Zadar have a modern image of a child, that their opinion about the modern curriculum of an early and pre-school period in education is also positive and that their image of a child is in accordance with their opinion about the characteristics of the above mentioned curriculum. By the analysis of all the information I came to next conclusions: pre-school teachers who work in institutions in Zadar have a modern image of a child; pre-school teachers have a positive opinion about the characteristics of the modern curriculum of an early and pre-school period. Nevertheless, there are some differences between these two categories. In fact, the analysis of the information collected for the research has shown that there is a certain distinction between what pre-school teachers think they do in real life situations and what they stand for. When we take in consideration all these things, we come to a conclusion that there is a need for the improvements in pre-school teacher's implicit pedagogy with the idea of improvements in general process in education.
