Time se također želi pokazati i znanstveno-sociološka relevantnost tog višedimenzionalnog fenomena u kojem se isprepleću i spajaju različiti segmenti.

More Prvo, unutar područja marksističke interpretacije bit će istaknute pojave poput kolonijalizma, rasizma, diskriminacije, odnosno rastafarijanska borba protiv tih oblika podređenosti i ugnjetavanja. Potom, posredstvom sociologije subkulture pratit će se način života koji je tipičan za rastafarijanstvo, a koji čine glavni segmenti poput izgleda, jezika, hrane, odnosa prema prirodi, upotrebe kanabisa, ikonografije i glazbe. Upravo reggae glazba, prvenstveno Bob Marleyjeve pjesme, predstavlja glavni medij globalnog širenja rastafarijanskih ideja, vjerovanja i praksi. U kontekstu rastafarijanske subkulture moći će se uočiti i određene značajke postmodernizma kao što su fragmentiranost i bricolage, a pomoću kojih mladi ljudi oblikuju svoj identitet, unutar skupine kojoj pripadaju ili, još češće, individualno. Rasfarijanizam će se nadalje promatrati kao novi duhovni pokret koji svoje korijene ima u kršćanstvu, a rastafarijanska duhovnost jedan je od segmenata kojima se bavi sociologija religije. Sukladno tomu, unutar govora o postmodernizmu, s naglaskom na procese individualizma i pluralizma, kao i eklekticizma i sinkretizma - rastafarijanstvo - konkretno rastafarijanska duhovnost, nezaobilazna je tema. Zbog činjenice da se rastafarijanizam kao pokret i rastafarijanstvo kao način života ne mogu okarakterizirati jednoznačno, predstavljaju zanimljiv društveni fenomen koji se može istraživati iz različitih socioloških perspektiva i koji upravo zbog svoje dinamičnosti predstavlja izazov. Less Abstract (english) The purpose of this paper is to investigate Rastafarianism as a contracultural movement at its beginnings, developed over time, mostly through reggae music, into subculture as a lifestyle of the youth, or Rastafarianism as a way of life and became one of the forms of new spirituality, one of the new postmodernist spiritual movements. It also wants to show the scientific and sociological relevance of that multidimensional phenomenon in which different segments are intertwined and merged.

More Firstly, within the area of Marxist interpretation, such as racism, discrimination, colonialism, or Rastafarian struggle against these forms of subordination and oppression will be emphasized. Then, through the subculture sociology, a life-style that is typical of Rastafarianism will be followed, and the main segments such as appearance, language, food, relationship to nature, use of cannabis, iconography and music. Reggae music, primarily Bob Marley's songs, is the main medium of the global spread of Rastafarian ideas, beliefs and practices. In the context of the Rastafarian subculture, certain features of postmodernism, such as fragmentation and bricolage, will be identified by means of which young people shape their identity within the group they belong to or, more often, individually. Rastafarianism will continue to be perceived as a new spiritual movement that has its roots in Christianity, and Rastafarian spirituality is one of the segments of sociology of religion. Consequently, within the talk of postmodernism, with an emphasis on the processes of individualism and pluralism, as well as eclecticism and syncretism, Rastafarianism, specifically Rastafarian spirituality is an unavoidable theme. In view of the fact that Rastafarianism as a movement and Rastafarianism as a way of life can not be uniquely characterized, they represent an interesting social phenomenon that can be explored from different sociological perspectives and which, due to its dynamism, presents a challenge.
