Abstract
U središnjem dijelu ovog rada analiziraju se radovi Waltera Benjamina koji govore o umjetnosti i kulturi. U radu se kreće od analize eseja Umjetničko djelo u razdoblju tehničke reprodukcije, naglašavajući pritom temeljni pojam eseja, a to je aura. Pojavom tehničke reprodukcije, prvo u fotografiji a zatim i u filmu, gubi se aura umjetničkog djela. To je simptomatski proces koji nadilazi granice umjetnosti i može se razmatrati u kontekstu pojave masovne kulture. Kako bi se što bolje razumjelo Waltera Benjamina u radu se analiziraju i djela koja govore o njegovom razumijevanju vremena, povijesti te njegova epistemologija „mozaika“ i „dijalektičkih slika“. Konačno, ovi koncepti se koriste kako bi se bolje razumjelo njegova djela o modernoj kulturi i umjetnosti.
Abstract (english)
In the central part of this paper we are analyzing Walter Benjamin works in which he argues about art and culture. First, we are analyzing the essay The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction, emphasizing the fundamental notion of the essay, which is aura. With the appearance of technical reproduction, first in photography and then in film, the aura of the artwork is lost. This is a symptomatic process that goes beyond the boundaries of art and can be considered in the context of the emergence of mass culture. We are also analyzing works that speak of his understanding of time, history, his “epistemology of mosaic" and "dialectical images". Finally, these concepts are used for better understanding of his works on modern culture and art.
