Abstract
There is a certain peculiarity, and especially when they are all merged, about the notions of comedy, grotesque bodies and disgust as they are undoubtedly one of the extensively researched and yet obscured realms of both interest and necessity. The intention of this paper is upon the examination of a body of literature on comic representation of grotesque bodies through disgust to reach the objectives laid down in form of research questions that are to be analysed. More questions addressed the issues of identifying the manner in which disgust is used as a social commentary, the influence of comedy on regulating abjection and disgust, and its impact on rendering disgusting grotesque bodies agreeable. More to the point, what the results uncovered was that crucial society’s problems were displayed through disgust and that comedy employed laughter and love, which had a positive effect on manoeuvring abjection and disgust and made disgusting grotesque bodies acceptable.Therefrom, an inference in relation to comedy and disgust calls attention to scientists and educators to follow future researches to familiarise themselves with new trends, problems and methods in this realm. Koncepti komedija, groteskna tijela i gadljivost ukazuju na određenu posebnost, koja se odveć ističe kad ih se međusobno poveže. Budući da su nesumnjivo opsežno istraživani, a ipak nedovoljno jasni, ove koncepte je istodobno zanimljivo i potrebno istražiti. Cilj ovog rada je utvrditi ciljeve koji su postavljeni u obliku istraživačkih pitanja kroz literaturu i istraživanja koja se odnose na temu komičnog prikaza grotesknih tijela kroz koncept gadljivosti. More obuhvaćaju problem utvrđivanja načina na koji koncept gadljivosti komentira stanje u društvu te utjecaj komedije na kontroliranje gadjivosti i stvaranje ugode vezane uz nju. Štoviše, rezultati su pokazali da se kroz koncept gadljivosti odista mogu otkriti neki društveni problemi i da komedija, koristeći smijeh i ljubav, ima pozitivan utjecaj na manevriranje gadljivosti, a ujedno i čini gadljiva groteskna tijela prihvatljivima. Iz ovoga proizlazi zaključak da odnos komedije i gadljivosti priziva i skreće pozornost prema tome da znanstvenici i nastavnici prate buduća istraživanja te da se upoznaju s novim trendovima, problemima i metodama u ovom području.
