The work starts with an introduction to the theme and why is it of significance. The first part of the main body explains the terms representations and gender and how do they correlate. A brief summary of the history of children literature and the reason why literature should be studied is included as well. The second part includes the analysis of three homosexual character, a bisexual character and a transgender character. Their appearance, their personalities and their relationships with... Rad započinje uvodom u temu i zašto je važna. Prvi dio glavnog dijela objašnjava pojmove „reprezentacija“ i „rod“ i u kakvom su odnosu. Kratki sažetak povijesti književnosti za djecu kao i razlog zašto bi se trebala proučavati su uključeni također u tom dijelu. Drugi dio sadrži analizu tri homoseksualna lika, jednog biseksualnog i jednog transrodnog lika. Njihov izgled, osobnost i njihove veze s drugim likovima su uzete u obzir u ovoj analizi.
