Abstract
Razvoj tehnologije u različitim je fazama omogućio izniman napredak čovječanstva, a veliki razvoj elektromotora omogućio je gradnju i upotrebu većih i snažnijih brodova, čime se posredno utjecalo na ostale aspekte civilizacije, poput trgovine. Danas se u brodskim sustavima pretežno koriste asinkroni motori izmjenične struje, koji su preuzeli primat nad motorima istosmjerne struje zbog svojih karakteristika i mogućnosti. Mnogi brodski sustavi zapravo su elektromotorna postrojenja, poput palubnih vitala ili sustava poriva, a zajedno čine cjelinu djelovanja brodskih sustava.

Parallel abstract (English)
The development of technology in different stages enabled extraordinary progress of mankind, and great development of electric motors allow the construction and the use of larger and more powerful ships, which indirectly affected other aspects of civilization, such as trade. Today, the ship's systems are primarily using asynchronous AC motors, which took precedence over DC motors due to their characteristics and possibilities. Many marine systems are in fact electromotive plants, such as deck winches or propulsion system, and together they make a whole of ship systems.
