Abstract

Parallel abstract (English)
This paper gives an insight in family history of Zrinski. It developed as a branch of family Bribir. Zrinski became a symbol of mutual tradition of Croatian and Hungarian people. They took name after a fort Zrin and, because of growing Ottoman danger, Zrinski moved their capital in Ozalj and also got Međimurje eventually. Some members distinguished themselves in some crucial battles of Croatian history. Nikola IV got killed at Siget in 1566, Nikola VII shortly after the winter war in 1664 and Petar Zrinski with Fran Krsto Frankopan in the conspiracy in 1671 which is called after the two of them in Croatian literature. The power and influence of Zrinski is well shown in a fact they managed to intrude a protestant religion in whole Međimurje with the help of their neighbours family Ungnad.
