Abstract
Rad sadrži prikaz stvaralaštva Krste Špoljara i donosi određenje njegove poetike.

Parallel abstract (English)
The thesis paper contains display of Krsto Špoljar's creativity and brings designation of his poetics. Author is determined as a writer of existentialist prose right because of the topics he processes and motives he uses in his prose works, especially in those from his so called second creativity phase which most of his works belong to. Topics he uses are alienation, failure, helplessness, indifference, futility and his characters are determined right as alienated and apathetic individuals. The paper is based on proving consistency in the making of character in Krsto Špoljar's prose. Categories that alienated individual is achieved through are pointed out just like the motives of alienation which are also worked out. Those categories are: past, corporeality, dichotomy homeland – foreign land, relationship between the world of adults and the world of children and, finally, understanding of freedom and escape.
