Une partie théorique, fondée sur des études de motivation, analyse diverses influences sur le choix de la langue, y compris l’importance de l’enseignant et des manuels, le rôle des parents, ainsi que l’intérêt culturel. Une recherche empiriquement fondée est réalisée auprès de 81 élèves afin d’identifier les motivations pour suivre des cours de FLE, mettant en avant la beauté de la langue et le développement personnel comme principaux moteurs. Les avantages que les élèves perçoivent découlent de leurs aspirations académiques et professionnelles, notamment en ce qui concerne les perspectives d’emploi. Les résultats de l’enquête révèlent des attitudes nuancées vis-à-vis de l’influence des parents et des enseignants, indiquant une tendance vers l'autonomie dans le choix linguistique. Par ailleurs, la qualité de l’enseignement est soulignée comme importante pour l’engagement des élèves envers le FLE. En conclusion, le travail met en lumière la dynamique entre appétence culturelle et considérations pratiques, tout en suggérant que, pour améliorer l’attractivité du français, un renforcement de l‘apprentissage culturel et l’adoption de méthodes innovantes d’enseignement seraient bénéfiques. Les recommandations pour de futures recherches incluent l’exploration des raisons pour lesquelles certains élèves choisissent d’autres langues. Less Abstract (croatian) Ovaj rad istražuje motivaciju i čimbenike koji utječu na izbor hrvatskih učenika za učenje francuskog kao stranog jezika (FLE) u školama. U uvodu se ističe važnost motivacije u obrazovanju i izazovi s kojima se susreću profesori FLE-a, posebice u svjetlu dominacije engleskog jezika. U radu se propituje institucionalni okvir za učenje francuskog jezika u Hrvatskoj, pri čemu se uočava pad interesa za taj jezik u posljednjim desetljećima pod utjecajem društveno-političkih čimbenika i utjecaja
... More medija. Teorijski dio, temeljen na studijama motivacije, analizira različite utjecaje na izbor jezika, uključujući važnost učitelja i udžbenika, ulogu roditelja, kao i kulturni interes. Empirijski utemeljeno istraživanje provedeno je na uzorku od 81 učenika s ciljem otkrivanja motivacija za pohađanje nastave francuskog kao stranog jezika, pri čemu su ljepota jezika i osobni razvoj prepoznati kao glavni motivacijski čimbenici. Prednosti koje učenici vide proizlaze iz njihovih akademskih i karijernih težnji, posebno u pogledu izgleda za zapošljavanje. Rezultati istraživanja otkrivaju nijansirane stavove o utjecaju roditelja i učitelja pri čemu se primjećuje tendencija prema samostalnom odabiru jezika. Osim toga, kvaliteta nastave pokazala se važnom za motiviranost učenika u učenju ili nastavku učenja francuskog jezika. Zaključno, rad naglašava dinamiku između kulturnih interesa i praktičnih razloga, uz sugestiju da bi jačanje kulturnih sadržaja i primjena inovativnih metoda podučavanja moglo povećati privlačnost francuskog jezika. Preporuke za buduća istraživanja uključuju ispitivanje razloga zbog kojih neki učenici odabiru druge strane jezike kao izborne predmete u hrvatskim školama. Empirically based research is conducted with 81 students to identify motivations for taking FLE courses, highlighting the beauty of the language and personal development as the main drivers. The benefits that students perceive stem from their academic and professional aspirations, particularly about employment prospects. The survey results reveal nuanced attitudes towards the influence of parents and teachers, indicating a trend towards autonomy in language choice. Furthermore, the quality of teaching is highlighted as an important factor for students’ engagement with FLE. In conclusion, the work highlights the dynamic between cultural appetite and practical considerations, while suggesting that to improve the attractiveness of French, a reinforcement of cultural learning and innovative teaching methods would be beneficial.
