Abstract (english) The aim of this work was to examine the various components of perfectionism that are related to parenting and parental psychological adjustment, specifically burnout, which arises as a consequence. A total of 224 parents participated in the research, of which 173 were mothers and 51 were fathers. In order to answer the research question, the Children Dyadic Almost Perfect Scale (C-DAPS; Piotrowski, 2020) was used, translated and validated into Croatian for the first time by the author Bašić (2023), as well as the Parental Burnout Assessment (PBA; Roskam et al., 2018) translated and validated by the author Macuka and associates (2022) and the Parental Behavior Perception Scale - SPRP (Macuka, 2004) which was adapted for this study, with statements modified to assess parents rather than children. The research results showed that mothers scored higher on average on the scales of parental control and parental burnout, while fathers scored higher on average on the scale of parental perfectionism, specifically on the subscale of order. Parental control increases with the age of the parents and it has been shown that it is most pronounced in parents over 40 years old. Also, the highest level of discrepancy was observed in parents of children in higher grades of elementary school (from the fifth to the eighth grade), as well as on the subscale of order. Finally, the regression analysis showed that parental behavior and parental perfectionism significantly contribute to the explanation of burnout in the parental role, where parental acceptance, parental control and discrepancy pointed out as the most important predictors of burnout.
