Abstract
Cette mémoire présente la vie de Balzac, la période dans laquelle il a vécu ci-inclus le changement social à cette époque c'est-à-dire la situation économique et la production littéraire de Balzac. Puisque l’argent est omniprésent dans la vie de Balzac, nous allons voir comment il devient le thème principal de ses oeuvres sur l’exemple des romans Eugénie Grandet et Le père Goriot. Il ne présente pas seulement l’argent comme un moteur de toutes les actions dans la société, mais il présente également la pénétration du capitalisme dans la société moderne dont Karl Marx écrivait déjà dans ses oeuvres. Enfin, nous allons voir la philosophie de Jean-Jacques Rousseau et son oeuvre Du contrat social par rapport aux oeuvres déjà mentionnés du Balzac et ses idées en général.
Abstract (english)
This diploma thesis presents Balzac´s life, the time period he lived in together with the occurring social changes, the historical and economic situation of that time and his literary work. Since money is omnipresent in the life of Balzac, it will be illustrated how it becomes the main theme of his work using the example of the novels Eugénie Grandet and Father Goriot. Not only that Balzac writes about money as a driving force in the society of that time, but he also indicates the burst of capitalism in modern society which has already been discussed by Karl Marx in his work. Finally, the philosophy of Jean- Jacques Rousseau will be presented and his work The social contract and compared with the already mentioned works of Balzac and his ideas in general.
Abstract (croatian)
U ovom diplomskom radu prikazan je Balzacov život, razdoblje u kojem je živio zajedno s društvenim promjenama tj. povijesno-ekonomskom situacijom tog doba, te Balzacovo književno stvaralašvo. S obzirom da je novac sveprisutan u Balzacovom životu, prikazat će se kako isti postaje glavna tema njegovih djela na primjeru romana Eugénie Grandet i Otac Goriot. Ne samo da Balzac piše o novcu kao pokretačkoj snazi u društvu toga doba, nego ujedno nagovještava i prodor kapitalizma u moderno društvo o čemu je također već pisao Karl Marx u svojim djelima. Na posljetku će se prikazati filozofija Jean – Jacquesa Rousseaua i njegovo djelo Du contract social u usporedbi s već spomenutim Balzacovim djelima te s njegovim idejama općenito.
