Digital technologies that are constantly advancing are crucial for the active participation of young people in society. Digital technologies enable finding information and interpersonal interaction, where the dimensions of the private and the public overlap. In the context of this overlap, an important social-communicative role is played by the opinion leaders on social networks, who leave the impression of parasocial interpersonal closeness while talking about important social topics. The current topic in Croatian society is the SARS-CoV-2 virus pandemic, and two streams of attitudes are appearing in the media: those who accept anti-pandemic measures and those who do not. The aim of this research was to examine the attitudes of young people towards vaccines and conspiracy theories. In addition, the research examines the connection between the practice of using social media and the adoption of anti-pandemic measures. For the purposes of the research, a questionnaire was conducted on a sample of young people (N = 391). Quantitative analysis showed that young people mostly use "new" media to inform about current topics and communicate with people and acquaintances, while "old" media are almost never used. Based on the obtained results, young people show a high degree of confidence in the vaccine as a safe solution against the spread of serious diseases, but also concern about the consequences of vaccination in the future, or unforeseen side effects
