Abstract
Promatrajući radove možemo primijetiti početke stvaranja stereotipnih razmišljanja i pogleda, uvjetovanih utjecajem okoline, medija i obitelji.

The thesis explores the importance of visual arts and art education by offering an overview of relevant literature. Troughout the thesis the importance of developing and encouraging children's art in class is emphasized. Teachers should be able to recognize specificity of childrens art work, monitor its development and instigate originality and creativity. Exploratory part of the thesis includes a research of the appearance of templates and stereotypes in childrens art work taking into account their sex. The research has been conducted during art classes. The aim of the research was to explore whether the students work will depict stereotypical motives, coloring or general art expression in regards to their sex. The results have shown, by analysis of their art work, that stereotypes are present in their work. By observing their work I have noticed the beginning of stereotypical opinions and views being created, which have been induced by childrens surroundings, media and family upbringing. Stereotypes have emerged related to specific sexual groups, and considering a variety of characteristics (both phisical and mental) that depict and determine the specific group. General analyses of the art work has shown that female students have been more succsessful in execution and resolvement of art problems that have been given to them.
